Characters Based on Real Life?

Question:

Hello! I am a fan of your Alice series and just recently finished Alice on the Outside. It was great! I’ll be reading the next book, The Grooming of Alice soon. I just have a question about your series. Are any of the characters in this series based on people you know in real life?

Phyllis replied:

No, I find that basing a character on someone I know hampers the creative process. I take certain characteristics of various people, but mix them all up with imagination.
