Just Saying Thanks

Comment:

Hi,
I just wanted to say thank you for writing memorable books from my childhood. My favorite was The Grand Escape, but Shiloh was a book that connected my sense of empathy for animals as a young child. I have a little three year old boy who adores books at bedtime, and it is becoming our cherished time to imagine, laugh, think critically, and most importantly, bond. As he gets older, I cannot wait to introduce your books to him.

I just wanted to say thank you for your heart and your writing, and for truly shaping my childhood.  Love and blessings,

It was so thoughtful of you to write to me.  The favorite part of my own childhood was story time in the evening–it lasted about a half hour.  Mother  read a story from the Bible story book, and then a chapter of a classic–Alice in Wonderland or something.  But it was Dad reading books by Mark Twain that really thrilled me.  I’m so glad you are establishing a similar ritual with your little boy.  I hope you can find all the books that you yourself loved.
