Loving a Dog

I am a 12-year-old boy in my second year of middle school. I always ask questions that I already know the answer to, but I am never sure if I am right or wrong. Sometimes I understand what is going on but other times I have no idea what my teacher is talking about. I have never been a kid that liked to read books, I always thought there was something better to do. But when you book Shiloh, I could relate to this book because in this book it shows how much a boy loves his dog. I have a dog named Louie, he just had surgery, I was extremely nervous because they might have had to remove his paw. But the surgery ended well because the doctor did not have to take his paw. This is how I related to Marty in the book because he would do anything for his dog and so would I.

Every time my dog barks at a car or another person I always think nothing of it, but I know he is trying to protect me. That reminds me of when Shiloh protects Marty from big dogs in the book. This shows me that I should be thankful for what my dog does because he does not want me to be harmed. When Marty must hide Shiloh from his family, so they do not take him away. I relate to this because when my family goes out of town, we take my dog to the kennel because we cannot take him with us, but a few years ago I did not want him to go to the kennel, so I tried to hide him. It did not end up working but I remember this because of Marty.

I have known my dog/ Louie for most of my l life. But Marty knew Shiloh for a much shorter time. Louie has always been a sweet and caring dog, just like Shiloh. Something that I can relate is that me and Louie are just like Marty and Shiloh and that why I love this book because it reminds me and my dog.

After I read this book, it really changed my perspective of my dog. I have realized how much dogs care for people. You did not just write an enjoyable book you changed my perspective of me and many other people. This book shows how much a boy can love a dog and therefore so many people are inspired by this book including me, so I want to thank you for inspiring me to look at my dog from a better perspective.
