Shiloh EVERY year

For the past 12 years, after all year-end testing is complete and things begin to slow down, I read Shiloh to my 5th-grade reading group as it is one of my ALL-TIME favorites to read.

They enjoy it (and the voices I use for the different characters) and quickly add it to their list of ALL-TIME favorites!

Your letter warms my heart.  My parents read aloud to us every night for about a half hour,  almost until we were in middle school.  Of course we could read ourselves, but they read with such drama that it was like a performance.  Dad, like you, could imitate all the different characters, and his reading of Mark Twain’s books aloud was perhaps the most memorable part of my childhood.
