Should I Lie?

Question:

just wanted to tell you i just got into the books like 2 days ago im in the middle of simply alice and i got to thank you soooooooooooooooooo much this book is geting me threw my dads cancer tretment.

But i do have a question im going into the 8th grade and my boyfriends going in to high school and my parents dont want me to keep going out with him because his in a gang…so i was woundering if should just lie and say im going to friends when im actully going to see him or should i just tell my mom amd dad the truth?!?

I think you already know the answer to that. Tell them the truth. They already have enough to worry about without adding you to their worry list. If you don’t want to do it for them, do it for yourself; if they find out they can’t trust you now, you will have a much worse time regaining their trust when you’re older, and want freedom even more than you do now.
